Another late submission but an album that has been in my rotation this year and shown NO LOVE at the grammys, but I guess that is purely because of streaming I fear. So HOW did I find miss Audrey? TIKTOK TIKTOK I LOVE TIK TOK MARKETTING.
Im scrolling away as you do on the feed. I hear this song it sounds good, I scroll again, I hear this song again and I end up knowing the lyrics because the chorus is really catchy AND THEN BOOM IM OBSESSED. The song was Sue Me. Releasing Sue Me as a single was a very smart move as it kept up anticipation for the album AND was super duper catchy. Now, I don't like Gracie Abrams but I found them to have a connection I believe and I hear that in her music however I think Audrey has that special articulation that captivates me.
Why do I love this album so much? As someone who is not into guys and has genuinely never had an experience, I think it boils down to the story telling. Her songs tell a story and as I am listening to the album I feel like I am in a movie. The picture of the story plays vividly in my head and I think that is why I appreciate this album as a body of work.
The way lyrics are articulated in songs hypes you up so much. My favourite song from the album is probably: thirst trap or shooting star. I am trying to secure tickets to see her perform live BECAUSE I saw her live performance of sex and the city and MY GOD. I have never seen the show but the live acoustic version had be bawling my eyes out. Great performer by the way I love how she separates herself from the "normal" and just has fun.
Don't worry Audrey girl we gon get them next year ALSO AN ARTIST I AM EXCITED TO SEE PROGRESS. However I feel like she wont get as big as I want. Her fandom seems to be very niche.
